Geological Structure Control of The Distribution Quartz Vein as Mineralization Pathway In Kawatuna Area, Palu City Indonesia

Abstract The Kawatuna area has a complex geological structure condition and is estimated to be weak zone for hydrothermal solutions rise then accumulate into deposits in the form of veins. Based on this, it makes this interesting study. This study aims determine its influence distribution veins area. method used surface mapping structures analysis. mapping, was found that composed schist rock units, gneiss, granodiorite, molasses units. developed consisted shear joints systematic non-systematic faults. quartz general direction northwest-southeast northeast-southwest. presence mineralization strongly controlled by an oblique convergence fault model shows dilatational movement force. deposit opening system formed jog which pull-apart basin fracture arrays develop are characterized tension fractures/veins.
